      Trying to connect to something
You often hear how we are more connected globally, as the digital generation, yet people are left feeling personally disconnected. In hindsight, it strikes me we should be very grateful for the digital connection we had during the lockdown, regardless of the pitfalls. I suppose it’s how you use it. As much as being online rescued us, there can be no denying the importance of physical contact and close proximity. Geographically speaking, to just gather and be exposed to difference, some variety, and some opportunity.

It won’t be new to anyone in education, but those not involved may be surprised to learn how many teachers I speak to find themselves waking up an hour earlier than needed during busy terms, ruminating over the academic progress or pastoral care of numerous pupils.
